Refund policy
Thirty days from purchase, no reason required, for anything sold directly by Fieldnote Press.
1. The window
A refund may be requested within 30 calendar days of the purchase date, counted from the date shown on the payment receipt. No reason has to be given and no explanation is requested. Requests made after the window are considered on their merits but are not covered by this commitment.
2. How to request one
A single email to support@fieldnotepress.site with the subject line REFUND is enough. The message should include the order or transaction reference from the payment receipt and the email address used at checkout, which is not always the address the message is sent from. No form has to be completed and no call is required.
3. What happens next
- The request is acknowledged within two business days.
- The transaction is located and the refund is submitted to the payment provider, normally within five business days of the request.
- The provider returns the funds to the original payment method. Card refunds typically appear within 5 to 10 business days of submission, though the exact timing is set by the issuing bank and is outside the publisher's control.
- Access to the purchased material ends when the refund is submitted.
Refunds are issued in the original currency and to the original payment method. Where the original method is closed, the payment provider's procedure for that situation applies. Currency conversion differences and any fee charged by the payer's own bank are set by that bank and cannot be reimbursed by the publisher.
4. Purchases through a third-party retailer
Where the transaction was processed by a third-party retailer or marketplace, that party is the merchant of record and its own refund process applies. A request sent to the address above will be redirected there, with the relevant details, rather than left unanswered.
5. Limits
- One refund per person per item. A repeat purchase of material already refunded is not covered again.
- Refunds may be declined where there is evidence of redistribution of the material, sharing of access credentials, or a pattern of purchase and refund across multiple orders.
- Where a chargeback has already been raised with a bank, the dispute is handled through that process rather than this one, since a refund cannot be issued for a transaction already under dispute.
6. Statutory rights
This policy is offered in addition to rights held under law, and does not replace or reduce them. Under Article 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code, a consumer who purchases at a distance may withdraw within 7 days of purchase or delivery, with a full refund of any amount paid. Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom hold their own statutory withdrawal rights for distance contracts, subject to the rules that apply to digital content supplied immediately with the consumer's agreement. Where a statutory right is more favourable than this policy, the statutory right applies.
7. Questions
Anything unclear about this policy can be asked before purchase at support@fieldnotepress.site. Questions of that kind are answered on the same terms as any other message.
